At Alsyed Pharmacy – York Road Branch, we offer a convenient NHS Hypertension Case‑Finding Service to help identify high blood pressure early and support you in staying healthy.
Who Can Use This Service?
You are eligible for a free blood pressure check if you:
- Are 40 years or older
- Are 18–39 with risk factors (family history, smoking, overweight, etc.)
- Haven’t had your BP checked in the last 12 months
- Want to keep track of your health and prevent complications
This service is quick, accessible, and completely confidential.
What We Offer at Alsyed Pharmacy
1. Free NHS Blood Pressure Check
A trained pharmacy professional will take your BP reading in our private consultation room.
2. Explanation of Results
We help you understand what your numbers mean and how they affect your health.
3. Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM)
If your reading is raised, we may provide a 24‑hour BP monitor to wear at home. This gives a more accurate picture of your blood pressure throughout your daily routine.
4. Referrals When Needed
With your consent, we will share your readings with your GP and advise next steps if hypertension is suspected.

How to Prepare for Your BP Check
- Avoid caffeine, exercise, and smoking for 30 minutes beforehand
- Wear loose or short‑sleeved clothing
- Sit calmly with both feet flat on the floor
